Wonderful Education's College Readiness program is designed to provide students access to and prepare them for success in college. We are seeking a Program Manager for College Readiness who will manage and oversee college advisement and intervention with employees' children in high school. Major responsibilities include providing academic support and college application assistance, managing and tracking student performance, coordinating college-themed events, and managing multiple complex projects. The ideal candidate has a passion for education and working tirelessly with students side-by-side in a fast-paced environment to help get into and through college. This position is based out of Fresno, CA area with up to 40% travel within the Northern San Joaquin Valley. Here's what you'll do: * Collect quarterly academic data for a 9th -12th grade caseload of approximately 80 students and monitor student progress towards high school completion and college admission. * Partner with the Director of College Readiness to create and maintain a data dashboard of program participation and student progress toward college goals. Evaluate effectiveness of service offerings and continuously make improvements to the program. * Serve as a coach, mentor and support to 12th grade students through rigorous and comprehensive college search, match, application, and decision-making processes. * Coordinate logistics, execution and on-site support for college readiness activities such as homework labs, tutoring sessions, test prep courses, student education plans, FAFSA sessions, college application sessions, home visits, parent workshops and informational meetings. Plan and execute special college readiness events such as college visits, college camps, and conferences. Compile notes/documentation and manage attendance for all college readiness activities. * Assist in the coordination and execution of 9th-12th grade summer camps. * Educate parents on graduation and college entrance requirements and partner with them to ensure effective support of their children enrolled in the College Readiness program. * Develop a working relationship with school leaders and community partners to ensure academic support and success of students. * Assist scholars with understanding availability of and applying for financial aid and college scholarships. * Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. * Build strong and sustainable partnerships with all school-based stakeholders. * Support the professional development of other Student Advancement Coordinators. * Manage a work schedule from Monday -- Thursday 11AM- 7:30PM, Friday 9AM-5:30PM, and on average one weekend per month. Here's what you'll bring to the table: * Bachelor's degree required. * Graduate degree in education and/or counseling strongly preferred. * A minimum of three years of full time experience working with youth. * Experience working in low-income, Latino (ideally rural/agricultural) communities. * California driver's license. * Fluency in Spanish (preferred). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Successful candidates will have at least three years of professional experience and will also possess: * Strong knowledge of college entrance requirements and the college application process. * Knowledge and intervention skills for working with "high-risk" students and a vision for how to serve historically under-represented students on their path to get to and through college. * Ability to provide tutoring in reading, writing and math to students experiencing difficulties in subject areas. * Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. * Strong, communication and inter-personal skills. * Excellent project management skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to gather and analyze data, compile information, create charts and tables, and develop concise reports. * Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint, Google Docs. Ability to: * Build strong rapport with youth and their parents. * Work independently and in teams. * Inspire and motivate students to change academic behaviors towards academic success. * Work with students toward the goal of increasing student achievement and progress. * Work in a fast pace environment, adapt to change, and respond favorably to feedback. * Professional presentation and oral communication skills. * Work tirelessly on behalf of students in South San Joaquin Valley communities, to take initiative, display a strong work ethic, pay attention to detail, continue to grow as a professional, operate resourcefully, and support colleagues.
